How to get the most out of your 1:1 photo class

The gear you have

You do not need expensive equipment to take great photos. The goal of this class is to learn how to use the gear you already have. Please bring the following items so we can practice together.

A CAMERA

Bring whatever you have from digital to film to view camera! It’s best to share what you plan on bringing to the class prior to the class. If you are unsure what you have, send a photo to Jenn.

If you camera has interchangeable lenses, bring those, too.

A MEMORY CARD OR FILM

If you have this, great. If you are unsure what to buy, don’t guess. As long as I know the camera, I can have memory cards to borrow or film to try out.

A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY

This is super important for a digital camera but not as important for a film camera.

A WAY TO VIEW AND EDIT YOUR PHOTOS *DIGITAL ONLY

We want you to walk away from class with a clear workflow so working with the gear you have is

essential.

Please bring:

A laptop, tablet, or phone you normally use

Downloaded free editing software options we may discuss include:

Apple Photos

Microsoft Photos

These programs can handle both JPEG and RAW files.

**if you already have an adobe photoshop or lightroom subscription, that works!

THINK ABOUT HOW YOU WANT TO PROCESS YOUR FILM *FILM CAMERAS ONLY

I can help you find local film processing or get you started on black and white home processing.
