Family Photos: What to Know Before Booking
How do I decide what session is right for my family?
Start at the end. How do you want to enjoy these photos?
Are you dreaming of a gallery wall full of great family photos? Classic sessions are just the right amount of time to capture your unique family classically and candidly with a variety of backgrounds and individual portraits.
Popping the annual family photo on a holiday card? Mini sessions are perfect
Mini and Classics differ on photo time and location. The Add on’s are designed to customize the session for your family.
PLEASE EXPLAIN THE ADD ON’S
Additional Family Members - Every family member requires more edit time and sometimes more photo time. Add 1, 2 or unlimited family members to the session with these add on’s. *The studio can accommodate about 8 adults and a bunch of kids. Please reach out to jennifer@logansquarephoto.com if your group has more than 8 adults.
Additional Time - Add 30 minutes to your 60 minute session. This is recommended for over 2 outfits and families with kiddos under 6 months. Love candid photos? Those moments take time to develop during a session. Candid photos are best captured during a 1 hour + session.
Travel 6-20 miles from the studio - While travel is offered for a fee, it is not always guaranteed. The studio will reach out immediately after booking with a refund if unable to accommodate.
Pet over 20 lbs - studio only, no fee for outdoor sessions - The fee is a cleaning fee to accommodate clients with allergies to animals. At the discretion of the studio, this fee may be returned if cleaning is not necessary.
WHERE IS THE STUDIO LOCATED?
1757 N Kimball Ave Chicago, IL 60647, on the 2nd floor of the Kimball Arts Building on the border of the Humboldt and Logan Square neighborhoods.
DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH FAMILIES at a PARK OR IN HOME?
YES. Totally. Mini sessions can be photographed at the 606 park next door to the studio May-Sept. Fall Mini Sessions are at Humboldt Park in October (join the mailing list here)
Classic Sessions can take place just about anywhere. Travel fees apply for locations 5+ miles from the studio. Send along your preferred location or ask for recommendations when booking.
What is included in the session fee?
Fees include the time of the session, edit of a minimum amount of photos in both color and black and white (check out the session details for photo totals), family photo gallery, print shop and hi-resolution downloads. Prints, albums and framing are an additional cost, all purchased through your family photo gallery.
I WANT TO BOOK a session at the studio BUT THE cost IS outside MY BUDGET

WHAT IF WE HAVE TO CANCEL?
No problem. It’s preferred that cancellations be made 24 hours prior to the session. You will receive a full refund for all scheduled sessions cancelled January - August. Sessions scheduled September-December will be refunded fees paid minus retainers.
DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH MATERNITY SESSIONS?
Yes! In staying with the photography style at the studio, maternity sessions are simple, contemporary and all about the new addition to the family. Sessions include partners and siblings. Mini sessions or Classic sessions are perfect for capturing this exciting time in your life!
IS THE STUDIO ACCESSIBLE TO ALL?
Yes. The studio accommodates all! The elevator is located through a separate entrance so just let the studio know prior to your session that you would like to access the elevator.
WHAT makes up a ‘FAMILY’ for photos?
Family photo session are available to any group of folks (human, furry or otherwise) who love each other and want to capture that love with photos.
